Calorie counting, not so helpful...

Our calorie counting obsession shows no sign of abating. Call me a sceptic but I sincerely believe that calorie counting is just a euphemism for starvation. Why are we so reluctant to let go of the idea that the calories in, calories out equation is somewhat archaic? The focus should be on the quality of the calories we consume rather than quantity. We have all met people for whom calorie counting is a daily ‘mantra’ and who practically live in the gym, yet the weight doesn’t budge and their health doesn't 'blossom'. The monotherapy approach, that is so pervasive in our society, whether we're dealing with weight loss or a more complex issue isn't delivering the desired results. We need to aw
